Frequently asked questions
Is the AF-S DX Nikkor 18-55mm VR full-frame compatible?
No. It is made for DX, and on full-frame cameras it forces a crop mode that uses only the central part of the sensor.
Does the AF-S DX Nikkor 18-55mm have VR?
Yes. It has vibration reduction, which helps with handheld shots in dim light.
Is the AF-S DX 18-55mm kit lens good enough?
It is fine for snapshots in good light. A prime like the DX 35mm f/1.8G gives better low-light results.
